English · Meaning

She who here, by incomparable beauty, by the excellences of youth, by birth in a most noble family, and by radiance, was like Śrī—she too, in the course of time, came to a wretched state. Surely, in the palace of the Matsya king, was sandalwood not dhṛṣṭam by Draupadī, who was called “Sairandhrī” by the young women proudly and with reproach? English · Meaning

He said: “My lord, so it is. But nowhere have I seen such an encounter with a fool. Nor, apart from the red-eyed one, have I seen a wise man who is greatly learned, incomparable in intellect among many sciences. Because of him my mind was understood as it truly is. The other ministers, however, are great fools, living merely by the designation ‘minister’ and not skilled in realities; by them even this was not understood. Because—”
