Friendship Wisdom & cleverness

Devout words are not proof of honesty, and silence is not proof of guilt. The ascetic trusted a performance; the court misread a beaten man. Eyewitness testimony changed the judgment. Consider what fair inquiry would require before punishment. The violence in this tale is not a model for justice. A character’s deception does not justify prejudice against a whole group.
