I am the city of Lanka, hero, conquered by your prowess. Since this is so, therefore you will conquer all the rakshasas completely.
तत्राहं सर्वरात्रं तु विचरञ्जनकात्मजाम्। रावणान्तःपुरगतो न चापश्यं सुमध्यमाम्॥ ५२॥
There I wandered throughout the whole night, searching for Janaka’s daughter. Having entered Ravana’s inner apartments, I did not see the slender-waisted woman.
ततः सीतामपश्यंस्तु रावणस्य निवेशने। शोकसागरमासाद्य न पारमुपलक्षये॥ ५३॥

शोचता च मया दृष्टं प्राकारेणाभिसंवृतम्। काञ्चनेन विकृष्टेन गृहोपवनमुत्तमम्॥ ५४॥
And by me, while grieving, there was seen an excellent grove of houses, enclosed by a rampart, of stretched-out gold.
सप्राकारमवप्लुत्य पश्यामि बहुपादपम्। अशोकवनिकामध्ये शिंशपापादपो महान्॥ ५५॥
Having leapt over the wall, I see a many-treed grove: in the midst of the aśoka grove is a great śiṃśapā tree.
