Adding a photo and consenting to likeness generation are different choices. A photo is reduced in the browser and stored on the device by default. If you explicitly enable likeness for a book, it can leave the device with that book's illustration requests. You can explore with an illustrated companion instead of a photo.
What local storage means
Local means the browser on this device holds the photo and locally saved artwork. It does not mean a second phone will automatically have those files. Browser storage can also be cleared by the device owner or browser. Treat a shared classroom or family tablet as a shared device when deciding what to keep there.
What likeness consent permits
When you enable the likeness option, the photo may accompany illustration requests for that book so the companion resembles the child. Suno Katha does not keep a server-side photo library. The consent concerns a book's generation flow, not a promise of a single network request or permission for every future book. Read the consent shown at the time.
Photo privacy is not all account data
Saying that a photo stays local does not mean the app never uses the network. Sign-in, payments, optional narration and other services have their own data needs. The privacy policy explains those separately. Never put passwords, payment card details or a child's photo into a support message to demonstrate a reading problem.
A simple choice before making a book
- Use an illustrated companion if no photo is needed.
- Review likeness consent before allowing a photo to leave the device.
- The adult edition has neither personal avatars nor likeness photos.
